Claddagh Bracelets!
|
The legend behind the Celtic Claddagh Bracelet is a romantic tale rich in devotion, companionship and adoration. According to the tale, Moorish pirates captured Richard Joyce, a resident of Claddagh (one of the oldest fishing villages in Ireland), while he was fishing. During his enslavement in Tunisia, he became a goldsmith. Later, when King William III was crowned, he issued an accord that anyone held captive could return to their homes. Richard Joyce's current master implored his stay in Tunisia to marry one of his daughters, offering him half of all of his wealth. Richard Joyce wished to return home to his true love in Claddagh. He returned to find her unwed since she had been awaiting the return of her lost love. The two wed and set up a goldsmith store. This is where Richard Joyce created the very first Celtic Claddagh jewelry in the form of a ring. Claddaghs had previously been depicted in rings worn for friendship rings or wedding rings, however, claddaghs have become increasingly popular in the form of Claddagh bracelets, necklaces, charms and more. At 14kzone.com we offer these romanticized claddaghs in enchanting claddagh bracelets. The crown on the claddagh bracelet represents loyalty, the hands represent friendship and the heart represents love. Whether she's the love of your life or an exceptional friend, give her a gold claddagh bracelet. |
